Thank you all for your help so far. I have managed to install XXX using upload in GUI and if I connect to port 9000 I can see the web interface, however I can't see the app under installed apps so I cannot use the gui to start | stop the service. I have tried the "apt-get purge logitechmediaserver" followed by deleting the "/var/lib# rm -rf squeezeboxserver/"
Anybody got any suggestions please?
- HWStigterApprenticeYou need both. First the nightly and *then* lms_1.09_all.deb.
That's all!

Netgear broke the app. They need to fix it. Everyone is jumping throgh hoops and deealing with frustration trying to solve a problem they created!
Come on Netgear, do the right thing. Stop making your mistakes our problem. Worst customer service EVER!

@Kbema1376
If you read earlier commentaries you'll notice that this is too easy. Netgear has to update certain parts of the OS to keep it safe. A new version of Perl has been in the works for some time and now was the time to implement it. So the correct way to solve these issues was to ask the developers of LMS to add new libraries that work with this newer version of Perl.
Netgear cannot be responsible for these libraries, they can only help solving these compatibility issues by asking the developers to adjust these libraries or executables.
That is what the activities on this forum achieved.
One might think that Netgear should have tested all these add-ons before releasing the new firmware. That would be ideal, but I don't believe that Netgear has the capacity to do that without help from the community. It's no Microsoft (or Google) as far as it's capacity for testing goes.
So let's be reasonable: the problem was solved in about two weeks time by the communities involved. I've known issues with bigger companies/communities that took much longer to solve (remember SSL?)

@HWStigter Thanks for confirming that, all working now :)
- Supertramp11Luminary
Can I pls ask the OP to summarize the necessary steps and mark the issue as resolved. This will help future people who upgrade to OS 6.6.x, including myself.
Many thanks to all!

I am waiting for 6.6.1. that's compatible with LMS, or the other way around, a newer LMS that's compatible with 6.6.0 and follow standard installation for dummies.
- Kberna1376Apprentice
I agree. Need to wait for an update that fixes this. I am not going to hack my server to fix a Netgear mistake.

Did you use the latest nighly from http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.9?
Logitech Media Server: Debian Installer Package (i386, x86_64, ARM EABI, PowerPC) is the one you should use.
- potssoAspirant
Thanks for this. i'll try that tonight when i get home from work. Although i'm pretty sure it was this i installed. may have been an earlier version however.
I also installed, lms_1.09_all.deb After the nightly.
Thanks again for your help.

This is confusing:

HWStigter wrote:logitechmediaserver_7.9.0~1477086729_arm.deb) and then install the supper_poussin app (lms_1.09_all.deb)
Which one should I use with my RN 102?
BTW: I tried both and both won't restart after selecting the plugin.
- HWStigterApprentice
One more thing that comes to mind: Since you tried both it would appear that something else is wrong. Did you de-install everything before you installed the 'latest' versions? And did you install the nightly first (i.e. before Poussin's) as per insruction? And last (but not least) did you try a reboot?
If that is all the case I'd suggest you look for support from Netgear, because on my similar (RN104) system it works like a flaw.
Sincerely,
Rik

Hi
I am new to the community, and has been tring to follow this thread.
I have a Ready NAS 202, running LMS smoothly. But yesterday I upgraded to 6.6.0 and is stopped to work.
I removed the LMS app, and then it disappeared from the available apps list :-(
I understand from this thread that I should install http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.9/sc/43a5d7e/logitechmediaserver-7.9.0-1477086729-arm-readynas.bin instead.
But also the lms_1.09_all.deb, is that correct ? And where do I get the lms_1.09_all.deb ?

With my test, after upgrade from 6.6.0 to 6.7.1, or install LMS with 6.7.1 FW, LMS both work fine.
- ottovonkoppApprentice
RN202, updated from 6.6.1 to 6.7.1. Works with LMS 7.9.:smileyhappy:
- Seems to be OK on my RN214, no problems that I have noticed.

Firmare 6.7.5. + Logitech Media Server Versie: 7.9.1, RN102
I have learned that a complete network shutdown by powering off the modem and the SQBT is importan to make it work again (Qobuz, Spotify)
Unfortunately: Spotify will soon not be supported on the SQ.

Hi Guys,
Has any LMS user updated to ReadyNAS OS V6.8.0?
Does it work with both setups (Poussin & NAStools) of the LMS apps?
The kb says "Devices updated with 6.8.0 firmware should not be downgraded to earlier firmware versions."...
So wouldn't want to go through the same hassle as described in this thread regarding 6.6.0 if 6.8.0 creates same issue :-)
Thanks in advance!

I have updated to 6.8.0 on my RN104 and RN202. Both LMS 7.9 (Poussin 1.0.9) and Plex works for me.
Even Spotty works but i think that SSL module or something needs to be installed.
- GeddyLifesonAspirant
Thanks Otto!
Can now confirm LMS 7.9.1 (with Poussin 7.9.0) also works on my RN102 on 6.8.0.

So... anyone updated to 6.9.0 yet?
- nsneVirtuoso
Yes, and Poussin's 1.0.9 running LMS nightly (7.9.1 - 1508904967) works just fine. So does Plex for that matter.
