PS3 Media Server for ReadyNAS PRO

If someone wants to totally uninstall this package what should they do ? And when I say package I mean all three JRE4ReadyNas_1.0.bin, Then PMS4ReadyNAS_3.0.bin, Then MPlayer4ReadyNas_1.0.bin. Please give specific commands and order if possible.

Did you try ReadyNAS Frontview interface from Services or Add-on?
Did you find something better for media (displaying thumbnails for videos)?

Please note that my previous comments were about an ps3 media server update (pms.jar is overwrited with a new version).

I haven't work with ps3 media server in a while just forgot that there was an option I remember at one point that you had to ssh into the box and delete them. Oh well maybe it was some other add-on, Thanks for the point in the right direction.

As far as something better no I have not but I am going to be putting a TV in my daughter's room now that she is older so I probably will give her one of the PS3's I currently use and either buy a popcorn hour or build me a net top box with a blueray player and xmbc.

FYI, I don`t use any more PS3mediaserver with Netgear, I use ReadyDLNA service from Netgear.
Initially I wanted to use PS3mediaserver because you can have thumbnails for VIDEO!! but this is not working on Netgear (for me). Therefore with both streaming services (PS3mediaserver and Netgear streaming service) I don`t have video thumbnails.
The advantage of using Netgear streaming service is if you use the spin-down function for Netgear the PS3mediaserver will not be displayed on PS3, only Netgear is working and is displayed on PS3 if you use spin-down function. Also, I don`t use live trans-coding from PS3mediaserver .

I will upgrade pms to last version and also the addon core structure

@super-poussin: any idea of the ETA of this new version?

My PS3 Media Server broke down recently for some reason I've not been able to pin down (even reinstalled the java/pms/mplayer add-ons i used initially, but that didn't work) and I was sort of hoping this new version would fix this...

I found that having READYNAS REMOTE enabled cause the PS3MS to "announce" itself outsite of my lan....


SO when I turn off the REMOTE addon and reboot, the PSM appears in the PS3 XMB!


But for now, after many days on it, I still can't get mencoder to work... so no MKV/subtitles for now.


I had PSM on my PC and it ROCKS! so having it working on the readynas would be amazing and would be bye, bye PC!!


I wish I could have the sources to update them/repackage them to new build....

1-JAVA
2-codecs/engines
3-PMS
