I don't know the precise reason, but I do know that hostname resolution can be hit-or-miss with ReadyNAS (and had to switch to IP addresses for my own local backups long ago). Clearly it was working with your old router, but not the new.

Is the backup job using the hostname or the IP address for the destination?

Same job definition that has worked for the past year or so.
Uses the host name for the destination.

Try changing it to the IP address, and see if that works.

Yes, that seemed to work. Changed two jobs and they are running as I write.
So, what gives?? Good guess or is there some rationale why it would work previously and not with a new router?
