I don't know the precise reason, but I do know that hostname resolution can be hit-or-miss with ReadyNAS (and had to switch to IP addresses for my own local backups long ago). Clearly it was working with your old router, but not the new.

Yes, that seemed to work. Changed two jobs and they are running as I write.
So, what gives?? Good guess or is there some rationale why it would work previously and not with a new router?

Thank you for your explaination; it is a good reason.
My personal view is that NETGEAR should investiogate and publish a KB article of some kind.

That would be nice. Even w/o a deeper investigation, it would be good to put in a troubleshooting KB article.
