RN204 Plex app: update available; fails
Have got plex app media server on unit. informs me that an update is available. advises install manually.
this I do: download the file < plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries-annapurna_1.0.0.2261-a17e99e_armel.deb >.
upload on the app page and appears to install. then try fand launch from app -
reports "error 0404 not found "
then have to reinstall from the available apps and start again to set up media libraries.
any ideas how I can do the update usuccessfully please ?

Thanks BrianL
that works - but make sure you turn OFF the Plex app before uploading, and wait a while for it to complete its shutdown actions..... then it works.
also - on turning ON after the install, wait again for it to complete its actions before trying to open the app.... not drastic, but goes to unknown page.

I had the same issue awhile back on a RN202 except I was unable to uninstall the update or reinstall the Netgear version from the Admin panel. Ultimately had to do a factory restore of the ReadyNAS and reinstall the Netgear version of Plex. Since then, I have ignbored the update message.
Would be interested to know if anyone else has been able to do a successful update.

Hello rodcrit,
Possibly Plex has not submitted updated version to Netgear yet. Contacting Plex might help if they have the .deb file that you can install manually.
But definitely they need to submitted the new version to Netgear so the available app from admin page is updated.

Hi rodcrit & dschwartzer,
We currently have a problem with our apps server. To get and install the latest plex app, manually download it from plex.tv -> Downloads -> Plex Media Server -> NAS Platforms.
Kind regards,BrianL
