sharing photo emails
When I send out emails to share my photos the email always comes from donotreply. Is there any why to change it so the send is my name or my email address?

pkas - omni2012Aspirantcan we all know how to change this?
Thanks,
Brian - pkasTutorBrian -- Each person who has PMed me has had a slightly different level of expertise and ReadyNAS-readiness. I have given each person personalized instructions. In the near future, I will post instructions for the "typical" user. For now, though, if you want to know how to become proxy free, just PM me.
Regards,
pkas - PolymorphicreadAspirantI can testify that pkas is a very helpful guy. He was very patient with helping me work out various problems and getting his ReadyNAS Photos II script solution up and running.
As he points out, we all have different levels of expertise. Prepare yourself (and save pkas repeating himself too many times to different people) with the following:
(Note: If the following instructions confuse you or are too daunting, don't worry. Just contact pkas. He will provide all the help you need.)
You will need to have ReadyNAS Photos II (obviously) - go to the "Add-ins" "Available" tab in Frontview to download latest version (1.0.6 at time of writing).
Download and install "Enable Root SSH Access" add-on: http://www.readynas.com/?p=4203
Download and install (on your PC) "PuTTY" - get it at putty.org (it's very easy to use, and gives you SSH access to your ReadyNAS)
PuTTY installs a command line program called "pscp" which you wil use via the command prompt, but you will save some time if you put the following in your "Environment Variables" (in Windows 7 64-bit, right-click on "Computer" > click on "Properties" > click on "Advanced System Settings" > click on "Environment Variables > scroll down in "System Variables to the "Path" line and paste the following at the end of whatever's there (without the quotes):
";C:\Program Files (x86)\PuTTY;%PATH%" (put this immediately after the existing entries, with no spaces)
(My recommendation here) Download and install "NFOPad" (on your PC) - get it here: http://truehumandesign.se/s_nfopad.php (if pkas tells you to "scp" a file to your ReadyNAS and then use "vi" to edit it, you can instead use NFOPad to edit the file (right-click > "View with NFOPad" - you need shell extension set to "on" in NFOPad options) before scp-ing (uploading) the file - it's easier than getting your head round vi if you've never used vi before.
Some email service providers don't play nice - yours might or might not - Gmail works well, so you might want to create a Gmail account, just so you know from the start that you have an email account that will work with ReadyNAS Photos II.
(All the above applies to x86 ReadyNAS (not "ARM") and Windows PC. I'm sure it can all be done with Mac or Linux, but I haven't been down those paths).
Now you should be good to go in no time!
:D
