Power is pretty close actually - 4.8 watts avg operating power for the VN, and 5.6 for the DM. For 6 drives that's 42 kwh per year (perhaps $6-$7 per year in Massachusetts, turns out its about €6-€7 in France).
The warranty is what makes it work for me economically. Getting a drive that's designed for NAS and tested by the vendor in NAS using RAID is also reassuring, and gives me some peace of mind.
