Accessing files via remote login

Good morning all!

Hope this should be a quick solution...

I login remotely in to my NAS. I sign in and it will show my file folders but nothing in the file folders when I click on them. I am signing in under a USER which I have given read/write access to the folder in FILE ACCESS as well as NETWORK ACCESS.

When I sign in under ADMIN, I can see all the files in the folders.

I have SMB enabled only.

What am I missing?

If you want to propagate your changes to "File Access", then you need to use the RESET control on the File Access page.  That will apply your file permissions recursively to all files/folder in the share.

  • That did it...I did not want to hit that button in case it reset everything back to defaults. I appreciate the help..

  • Also, If I change the USER to ADMIN group, I can see all the files in the folders. I switch it back and I show FOLDER IS EMPTY.
