Admin Password Reset RN 10223D

I'll go through the link you provided and may be doing it incorrectly. If I may describe what I'm doing, and you can let me know if that is correct, I'd appreciate it!
1. Put pin into reset button in back
2. press power
3. Four lights come on within 15 seconds
4. press the backup button
5. Only the power and ACT button are lit now
6. Continue to press backup button to get the led 2 light to turn on but doesn't work
Should I wait longer before pressing the backup button?

No.
Note that you do release the reset button after the four lights come on.
Great, thanks! Now it looks like it running in the OS install mode.
When i log into the IP, it's no longer found. I then checked the router and it says not connected. Am i missing something?

Try using RAIDar, and see if it can discover the NAS. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar
It's possible the IP address has changed.
