Another part of the environment the disks have experienced is the shipment to you. If all four were in the same box, then they were subjected to the same TLC or rough handling during the shipment.
I agree with StephenB that you should maintain a current and complete backup at all time, but especially when there is a risk of a multiple disk failure. A multiple disk failure will create havoc with your array and may result in the loss of all data.
