I think mdgm wants to know when you upgraded to 4.1.8, and what you were running before. Also, if the messages started or stopped around the time of the upgrade.

I was asking about the HCL, only because Netgear support probably won't help if the drives aren't on the HCL

So if you have the sleep timer enabled (or are frequently rebooting the NAS) you might try leaving everything going 24x7 and see if the errors stop.
