The archive disks aren't really suitable for NAS use, your write performance would be awful I think.
As far as size of disks goes, you could use 8 th disks, but bear in mind the 16 tb volume limit on 4.2.x firmware, this would mean you would need to factory default with the entire volume in place if the volume size was going to exceed 16 tb.
