Changed to DHCP and now RAIDar isn't seeing ReadyNAS
After months of trouble-shooting to regain access to my ReadyNAS NV, I was finally able to login to the admin panel. Apparently the differing IP address on the drive (versus the IP addresses on my n...

Hi Slise,
When it finally boots up, did it display any information on its LCD screen? Pressing the power button would help display its info. Last option you can do is to perform OS Reinstall (steps are found here).
Kind regards,

This model is so old, it doesn't have an LCD screen. Only 4 lights indicating the hard drives, power... The hardware is working fine; it's a software thing of simply connecting to the right IP.

Wouldn't an OS reinstall, delete all the data on the drive?

Do you recall which firmware is on this unit?
No, an OS Re-install installs the OS over the top of itself and resets a few settings. It leaves the data intact.
A factory reset on the other hand wipes all data, settings, everything.I'm wondering if this NAS could have a full 2GB OS partition or some other problem. If the OS partition is full is the case then an OS Re-install wouldn't fix it. Changing the network settings to use DHCP shouldn't result in not being able to connect to the NAS.
Btw we released the NV Rev A back in February 2006 so your unit couldn't be more than about 10 years old. Still it's been working a very long time.

Maybe try removing the network cable from the NAS; rebooting the router; and then reconnecting that cable first.
Is the PC you are running RAIDar on using WiFi or ethernet?
As mdgm says, and OS reinstall will reset the IP address, but won't resolve other possibilities like an full OS partition. (Neither will my suggestion btw).
