difference ReadyNAS Pro's for Plex? Buying Advice
Looking to buy the ReadyNAS Pro 2 for Plex media server (mainly for videos, music, data storage). Will be streaming to few TV's - ATV2 and audio receivers, including HD content. I do not need 4 or 6 b...
For current ReadyNAS Pro's, the CPU specs are:
Pro2 – 1.8 GHz Atom D525 (dual core)
Pro4 – 1.66 GHz Atom D510 (dual core)
Pro6 – E5300 2.6Ghz CPU (dual core)

That said, as long as your set-up does not require any transcoding, you may be okay with a Pro 2. I have a Pro 6 and was watching my CPU usage this morning while using a Plex client on my computer. The Plex process rarely even hit 1% CPU usage.
That said, if you're doing any transcoding (often required for the Plex "apps", as opposed to the Mac/Windows clients), you'll be in much worse shape. I would try streaming from your current server and checking CPU usage to make sure none of the clients are using any real CPU power.
