Do have Solution for two different untrusted network domain?

In a scenario that I have two network domain which do not trust each other. The Microsoft share folder cannot provide stable shared folder service because two domains do not trust each other. Can NAS provide stable solution or not?

Thanks.

What you want is not a supported configuration.

However if you are willing to build trust between the two domains there is an option to "include trusted domains".

You could try joining domain 1 with the NAS, having configured domain 1 to have one-way trust of domain 2. That might be enough. Not sure on that though. It's possible the trust might need to work both ways.
  • Thanks for your reply.
But what if we are not able to build any trust(neither one-way or two-way) between two domains? Can NAS join one domain and provide stable share folder service to both domain?
  • It is not quite the same, however it is possible for the NAS to work in WORKGROUP mode, where it is not joined to either domain, but has user/groups created on the nas itself with each share can have it's own set of users/group/permissions.

This way users on either domain can access the nas/shares based on the nas-specific users/groups/shares.
