Drives for Surveillance
I've got a Readynas 516 with 5 x WD Red 4TB drives in it currently. Setup is Raid 6. The hoodlamns in my neighbor hood have taken to throwing fruit at my house and cutting my christmas lights. <...
I think the Reds will be fine. If you want to keep the surveillance on its own volume, you certainly could add in a purple drive and configure it as jbod. But I wouldn't do that because I was worried about the Reds.
