How does one tell the enterprise drives?

You buy a unit and see what's in it. Drives included vary depending on availability etc. to NetGear at the time.

If you want to choose your own disks from the compatibility list buy diskless units.

OK. But how do I tell the ones on the list that are of enterprise quality?

Please could you highlight a couple of examples?

Drives that have 5 year warranties, rotational vibration safeguard and tend to cost at least twice as much as the consumer versions e.g. the Hitachi Ultrastar is an enterprise disk whereas the Deskstar is not.

Based on experiences, can somebody informally recommend a disk from the 1TB size on the HCL?

I am considering the Ultrastar HUA722010CLA330.

Reliability is first and foremost!

Hitachi drives have a pretty good reputation for being reliable,
maybe someone on the forum is running these drives and can tell you.
