Fail to copy file size > 5GB from nas to USB 3.0 thumb drive
hi,
anyone experience this problem?
so far copy files from USB 3.0 to NAS no problem, but from NAS to USB if file size >5GB it takes endlessly and if cancelled found only 1kb was actually copied.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat filesystem is on the USB key?
Remember FAT32 has a limit of 4GB per file.
What model ReadyNAS is this on and what firmware version? - nas102Aspiranthi,
thanks..
it's RN102, fw 6.1.6
yes FAT32, try on Win 7 explorer, a message pop up "the file is too large for the destination file system".
i think readynas should also display an error message instead of just showing copying... endlessly.
in this case, what filesystem is recommended for readynas to/from windows environment?
converted that thumbdrive to ntfs (convert G: /fs:ntfs) following instruction in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307881
this time, 5GB+ file seems copy successfully, however, readynas remote web cease to respond for a very long time.
noticed file copy completed very fast (few seconds) as observed from Windows explorer destination file size.
remote web response only after few minutes later..
