Fixed IP with unknown Subnet Mask - Cannot Log In
I have an very old ReadNAS Duo 1TB Raid.
I was able to log-in to all the shares and the admin page. I was trying to get all the data off the NAS and FTP wasn't working.
But I was on a different network, so I changed the fixed IP from 192.168.0.56 to 10.0.0.99. In hindsight, I should have used DHCP.
I think I may have used the wrong subnet mask. I think I entered 255.255.255.0.
So RAIDar see the ReadyNas and give me the IP of 10.0.0.99 and the Mac address when I set my MacBook Pro to 192.168.0.57. According to RAIDar everything is working but I cannot log into the ReadyNas anymore obviously because it is on a different network.
So I manually set my MacBook to use 10.0.0.1 and I still cannot log into the Admin Page.
What if i didn't type the subnet correctly? I cannot do a system reset as it will erase all the drives.
Apple support cannot help and Netgreat Support wants money and could not even make TeamViewer work on the Mac.

Nothing wrong with using that subnet mask. What is the IP address range that your router is using?

If you were able to see all the shares, then changing the IP address from 192.168.0.x to 10.0.0.x was the wrong thing to do. Your FTP issues had a different cause.

Connect the NAS ethernet cable directly to the MacBook, and set the MacBook to use 10.0.0.1. Then log in via https://10.0.0.99/admin.
I agree you should be using DHCP instead of static IP addresses. You can reserve an IP in the router if you want the NAS to have a persistent address.
