Flashing new FW to RNDU2000
So, i bought a used Netgear Ultra 2 as a backup to my existing RNDU2000, how ever it won´t boot and is not discoverd by my router ( Asus RT-AC87U )
So i tried to flash it using the inofficial guide i found here after doing a google search.
But to no avail, if i hold the powerbutton during startup i dies on me.
I do belive that the previous owner has run Xpenology of it, but i want it back to Radiator.
Any thoughts in the matter?
The NAS boots up, i can hear the drives start spinning, but get no act LED or disk LED:s.
Its shiped with FW: V4.2.19
Serial: 2PG41A0200552
Regards Matt

Hello Matt_Eriksson,
Welcome to the community!
Does the RAIDar see the NAS? What RAIDiator version did you flash it with?
Are the disks you are using with it empty and no partitions?

Also pressing and holding the power button would force shut the unit off. To do USB Boot Recovery you press and hold the backup button when powering on the system.
Did you follow the Unofficial Guide for USB Boot Recovery for x86 systems, running the .exe file included in the zip file to prepare the USB key?
Can the unit boot to the boot menu?

Hi JennC.
RAIDar does not recognice the NAS.
I Tried RADIator 4.1.8 that from what i now understand might not be the correkt version?
I also kinda f**ed up when turning the nas on and initializing the Flash recovery boot.
I have 2 500Gb disk installed with old data on them, partioned with NTFS, the data is of no use to me so i don´t care if it gets wiped.
Regards Matt
4.1.8 isn't for the ultra at all - you should have used 4.2.x firmware (current release is 4.2.28).
4.1.x is for a sparc CPU, not the intel processor used in the the ultra. If the USB recovery actually applied 4.1.8, then you might well have bricked the NAS. Perhaps try again with 4.2.28 (unless mdgm or some other netgear person gives different advice).
