3D Active Balance Plus does read as a true improvement for vibration prevention, but that only helps to prevent its own vibration.
RVS is an active feedback system that can actively anticipate the surrounding vibration created by other sources by use of accelerometers attached to the HDD and then compensate for it by correcting the HDD head alignment.
It is like saying 3D Active Balance plus is similar to having you car wheels balanced, while RVS is more like Porsche's PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management).
