HD for ReadyNAS duo RND2110 v2
Hi,
A friend of mine gave me an old ReadyNAS Duo RND2110v2 without HD.
I would like to buy new 3TB disks to work in RAID 1 configuration and I found int he ReadyNAS Hard Disk Compatibility List that it should support the WD Red WD30EFRX model.
Can someone confirm that buying two of them will work on that device?
Thanks
Antonio

Mh... looking at this link http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how-to-tell-whether-i-have-a-duo-v1-or-duo-v2-or-nv-v1-or-nv-v2/ and at the back of the device, it seems my device is the v1 model and in the HD compatibility list it only support 2TB disks.

Correct.
The labeling is confusing, so I'm glad you sorted out the model you have before you invested in drives that won't work with your NAS.
If you plan to keep it, then I suggest WD20EFRX.
The current replacement is the RN102, but if you can afford it, I'd recommend an RN212 instead.

Thanks Stephen for your answer, I was thinking exactly to the WD20EFRX, happy that this will be supported.
To test the device I've just installed a couple of 80GB Seagate disk I had and set them in RAID1 and it seems working fine, at least to create shares and accessing them from my home network and PCs.
Before deciding to keep it or not, I would like to understand if I can use it for videosurveillance with 3-4 cameras and possible accessing remotely from an iPhone, to also save fotos on it, but still struggling to find the right software to install and Add-on, any hint will be appreciated.
Thanks
Antonio
