My bad, sorry. I had the ReadyNAS OS 6 systems in mind which certainly don't have this ***** http tp https redirect.

With the legacy NAS (4.1, 4.2, and 5.x firmware) there is also a change to virtual.conf you can make that will eliminate the redirect. That is outlined in the beginning of this (rather long and messy) thread here:
There are TLS 1.2 add-ons for 4.2 and 5.x, but not for 4.1.
