I un-commented bind-address = 127.0.0.1
Then I do
nas-XX-XX-XX:/etc/mysql# mysqld
120607 9:32:02 InnoDB: Started; log sequence number 0 43655
120607 9:32:02 [Note] mysqld: ready for connections.
Version: '5.0.24a-Debian_3.infrant1' socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' port: 3306 Infrant ReadyNAS distribution
I have no prompt further. So I have to login with another ssh session as root and do
mysqladmin shutdown
to regain prompt at the original session.
I also rebooted the whole box and checked it again with the same result.
Then I do
