How to share a subfolder ~and~ share the root folder too
How do I share a subfolder, while maintaining a share for the root folder? share the root folder (ie: //files) share the subfolders (ie: //files/user1, //files/user2, etc). This would allow me...
You can't share a subfolder of a share, but you might not need that to accomplish your goal.
With NAS admin credentials you can mount the full data volume and see everything in it. For instance,
net use t: \\nasipaddress\data /user:admin nasadminpassword
Your solution solves ~that~ issue, but I have to wonder why NetGear doesn't allow that. My old SnapServer (running Guardian OS) allows me to create a share, and specify the any folder ("/", "/files", "/files/user1", etc).
