That model has a dlna server built in for compatible devices.

From a tv, its viewing the contents from the dlna server and streaming them.

Your computer is downloading them as a file as you're not viewing/accessing them using a program that can stream dlna content.

Try using windows media player to view/play the content.

Or it looks like that model has the ability to install Plex and use as a media streamer with transcoding if you'd like. (might not be the most powerful transcoder) I have plex setup on both my server and on my NAS (backup media) and it works great.

I Did instal Plex at one time but on my TV when I clicked on Plex it would say something like no Data or Server found and when looking to share it said that to share it it cost money so I uninstalled it I can reinstall it if that is the only option, but is there no free ware that can do the same that can be loaded on and used with the NAS?? what is "Sick Chill" ??

New to the NAS is any othe apps that are on it any good??

Yoda3647 - you said you were using a phone I think. In that case, you still need a DLNA player app.  There are several available for both iOS and Android.

There is also a plex app - that can work w/o needing ReadyCloud.
