HP officejet 8600 Plus causes Ready Nas Duo V1 to disconnect
Any ideas most welcome!
I have just bought and installed an HP Officejet 8600 Plus all-in-one scanner/printer. It works a treat, but . . . as soon as I connect it to my router, my Ready Nas disconnects immediately. I'm using a Draytek Vigor 2710n router.
So far I have tried:
- giving the printer a fixed IP address outside the range of the DHCP pool (192.168.2.100). ROuter base address is 192.168.2.1, first DHCP pool address 192.168.2.12, 50 addresses in the pool
- updated the Ready Nas firmware to Raidiator 4.1.10 (from 4.1.7)
- turned off uPnP on the Ready Nas
- turned off WS DIscovery on the printer
(the last two were suggested by a web search)
None of this has made the slightest difference, so at hte moment I can either have access to my files or I can print, but not both at the same time.
Can anyone help, please?

- PapaBear1ApprenticeI have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 and have never had a problem. I have however my NAS units for the most part set high in the range (201, 202, etc) and the printer is DHCP. However, I have also run Netgear routers (currently WDNR3700 which replaced a WDNR2000 back in June).
Since you have the printer set to a static IP, I would try to set a static IP on the Duo as well and see if that helps. If not, I would contact the support people at Draytek and see if they can help. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAfter the ReadyNAS disconnects, can you reconnect? Or ping it?
You might also want to look in router logs to see if there is any hint there. - laser162644AspirantSolved!
I've turned off all the following services on the 8600 Plus, none of which seems to affect its functionality for me:
- Bonjour
- SNMP
- SLP
- WS DIscovery and WS Print
- IPP
ReadyNas now works fine again. - How odd! One of my ReadyNAS Pro 6's is connected to a Draytek 2920n router along with a HP OfficeJet 8600 Plus... and it works fine!
