Install Ceph distributed filesystem

Hello,
I would like to build a test lab to test ceph distributed filesystem and I would like to see if it is possible to install on a readynas 102 or 104 model.

The ceph authors provide debian packages already compiled for intel and armHF.

Is it possible to install them on readynas os? I have heard it is based on debian so I hope it is possible.

Thanks for info,
Mario

  • Can you at least reply to some of these questions:

    - is readynas os based on debian? which version?
    - can you install debian packages without hacking/rooting it?
    - is there a sdk?

    Thanks,
    Mario

This is a user forum. NTGR rarely post anything these days.

The answers are yes, don't know, and I imagine so, somewhere. Links/URLs are proving quite a task for NTGR currently, and I don't have the time/inclination to go chasing shadows I'm afraid. Sorry.

I don't own or use a OS6 based NAS so can offer little input. Others will be able to assist though, once they see your post.
  • Thank you for your help!
Sorry probably I have posted in wrong forum I write in the developers forum that I have found just now.
