Installing new larger drives RN 202, RAID 1
Good day folks, I did some searching but didn't find what I wanted. Or maybe I didn't get lucky. Alomng with that frankly I wasn't sure if this was the best choice of sub forum. So please if I picked...

The process is to first hot-insert one new drive, and wait for the resync to complete. Then hot-insert the second drive. After the second resync, the volume will expand.
The other approach is to back up the data, power down, and install both new drives. Then reconfigure the NAS, and restore data from backup. This avoids the extra resyns, and If something were to go wrong, you still have the original drives.

Ok I'll buy that and that makes the time issue a non issue.
Confirm that we simply open that baby up, yank the drive, insert new drive, walk away.

That is the process (one at a time).
Of course the array is not redundant during a resync, so it is a good idea to have a current backup.

Understood the Raid 1 mirror is broken at the time the drive is removed. I'll update my adventure as it progresses.
