- ahamadaAspirantThe new features are really fantastic, the idea of having a private cloud on my ReadyNas and the idea of being able to access my data over the internet is wonderful.
However, I agree, that probably Netgear was in a hurry to release the new firmware, and it didn't give it enough time to do a thorough testing.
After a lot of trial and error I managed to get the Genie working but the applications is very limited so it is of no real use, and it is not by any means stable.
My major problem is in ReadyDrop. After installing it and trying to get my data on the cloud, I found a huge number of bugs, that deeply affect the integrity of my data. Sometimes, the readydrop wouldn't simply sync the data. Sometimes, it suddenly erases all the data on the PC. If you try to put a huge amount of data in the readydrop folder, it will certainly stop syncing after a while and it will not continue syncing afterwords. I am sure a good tester could have come out with all those bugs if real testing outside the perfect lab environment was done.
I got in contact with the support after just one hour of playing with the product and after some email troubleshooting they informed me they could reproduce the bugs and that it will be fixed in the next release.
I hope this release comes out very soon as the product is marvelous, but I don't think anyone can afford bugs that can affect the integrity of his data. - devilsrearAspirantHi I agree the new features in ReadyDrop are great and unexepected. However with the data integretity Issues and that the DLNA service fails on certain movie files has forced me to roll back to 5.3.5.
Heres hoping they get these resolved soon - brewster0101AspirantI've not any problems with the DNLA server yet , but for some reason my box won't wake up/turn on from the power schedule.
- i4niacAspirantSome noob comments.
It seems the NAS became louder, I mean it turns it's fans to max 2 or 3 times a day. It never happened before the update. It's been running for about 3 months, doing usual tasks like few torrents now and then and network sharing. Never was so loud, never heard it at all. Now it sounds as if it tries to take off. Well though, it is in a bit enclosed space and the Summer is Coming around here so it gets warmer, but still the timing is strange, it's been quite warm for few weeks, but NAS gets loud just after the update. - gpaoloLuminary

I agree 100%.
I've spent the entire day trying to get ReadyDrop working and the best I was able to obtain has been to sync 50% of the files. The rest are somewhere inside the NAS (because from website they are visible), waiting to be erased at the next reboot... Really, this was quite disappointing, because the NAS is very good and the could functionality would be just great!
