Mix Raid setup in one NAS
I have two ReadyNAS devices (NX+ and 314)
Both are currently set up with 2 hard drives in a RAID 0 config and hold 'transient' files (hence no need for redundancy)
I would also like to store some data on one / both of these devices, so can add two more disks. However, This data should be on a drive with redundancy, so is it possible on either device to set up these two extra disks using RAID1, therefore having one volume containing 2 * disks running RAID 0 and the other volume using 2 * disks running RAID 1?
Thanks

Welcome to the Community!
You have NVX or NV+? You can do that setup by setting your NAS to Flex-RAID, this way it will allow you to setup more than one volume. However with OS4 you might need to perform a Factory reset in order to change to Flex-RAID. Please see RAIDiator 4.1 manual but with OS 6 you will just have to switch from X-RAID to Flex-RAID by ticking a button. Please see OS 6 manual.
Once on Flex-RAID you will be able to create a new volume for the additional two disks you will add. See OS 6 Manual on page 30 and RAIDiator 4.1 Manual page 20.
Hope this helps!

If you are already running RAID-0 with two disks, the systems are already running Flex-RAID.
Generally I don't recommend RAID-0 volumes that span multiple disks, as they are very fragile - when either disk fails you lose all the data on both drives. If you do a factory reset for some reason, you might consider splitting that volume into two (one per disk).

Sorry, it's NV+ - and with firmware 4.1.16 so assume that's OS4?
I expected it to be a bit of a pain to do, but it urned out to be very straightforward - deleted all volumes and added the extra disks in. Then created the RAID 0 drive, rebooted and created the RAID 1 drive.
Thanks for your help :)
