Move NV+ raid to NV+ ver2 possible??
As the title says, my Readynas NV+ has died and I have the opportunity to purchase a new NV+ ver2 cheaply and wanted to know if I fitted my old drives (4 x 2TB) into the new ver2 chassis would it reco...

Yes you can borrow a friend's v1 unit. Make sure it's running at least as new firmware as yours was before moving the disks across and follow the instructions here: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_migrate_disks_over_from_an_existing_readynas_to_another
Another less desirable alternative would be to try data recovery using Linux. See Mounting Sparc-based ReadyNAS Drives in x86-based Linux
Of course if the NAS was damaged by a storm it's possible one or more of the hard drives may have been too. If that's the case you may need to restore from backup. A power surge can damage anything and everything though hopefully your disks are fine.
