nas212 and privelleges
hi.
im not IT specialist but in my work i have to configure a nas212 storage installed by an older administrator. I can access the disk via web interface by its ip number. Also i can access it from all my pc's via run \\192.168...... command but in some of them ask me for a password who i dont have it I try everything i know but no one worked.
Also i have to say something i change in shares and now i see only anonymous share (read&write) but not administrator.
In + button only anonymous & everyone. Domain admins i see in the file acces but the read/write button is grey. In account, athentication is selected active directory cause the nas is working under server.
So...any idea? its the previleges issue or i have something to change in the server? Thanks...

I forgot to say ...only one folder asks me for a pass...other folders working fine...and from the netgear admin page i see the files too...
It sounds like you are using active directory for the PCs. Are you also using it on the NAS?
If you are only seeing this on one share, then you should compare the network access and file access tabs for that share with the ones that work. Set them to match, and then use the reset control on the file access tab, and see if that takes care of it.
Note that the full data volume (default name is data) can only be shared using NAS admin credentials. You don't want to give the PC users access to the full data volume (other than perhaps yourself and NAS administrators). If the share name that requires credentials happens to match your volume name, then I suggest renaming the share.
Also, you might want to open the Windows Credential Manager on the PCs that have this problem. You might need to delete existing credentials for the NAS. If you are using AD, then that should be enough. But if you aren't, then you need to enter a new credential that matches a user account on the NAS.

Also i change the active directory to local users on the authentication. Now from every user i login to nas ask me for a pass and thats it...i loggin. Thats is ok for me....or not? Is that the right setting?
