Netgear ReadyNAS RNDU4000 Reports Channel 2 not available
Disk status telling me that Channel 2 is missing. Swapping around the disks does not move the issie so its not the disk itself. Disk on Channel 2 powersup and spins up but nothing more. What can...
I fixed it!
Took it all apart and resoldered the SATA-port on channel 2. Reassembled and now it works!
Port was tweaked a little bit. Might have been me but could also been someone else. I bought it used.
But isnt it supposed to have a fan at the power supply? There was no fan in there. It had a empty slot for a fan.
Has someone removed it? The only fan is the big one for the disks.

It sounds like the SATA port in the NAS has failed. Unfortunately that is not repairable.
Yeah, i really dont know what it is.
Maybe there is a deeper log to access? That can show whats going on?
The number 2 LED is not lit up on the front only 1 3 4.
Disk has power and starts up. Really strange that disk is not recognized.
Is it a bad capacitor, resistor or something? Or a microchip?
If the SATA-connector is bad, i can replace it. But i dont think that connector itself is bad. There must be something else.
Are there anything else i can try?You could download the full log zip and look in there.
I've not seen any case here where someone was able to repair it. Perhaps Sandshark will chime in, he might have some thoughts.
Seems to be a known issue!
Maybe there is a used PCB i can replace it with if its the controller card that is bad.
