Netgear RN10400-100NAS 104 won't stay connected
I bought my new 4 bay NAS 2 weeks ago and 4 - 4 TB drives for it. My first guess would be that it is busted; and i am taking it back tomorrow; but found this forum and thought i would post just in cas...

I mentioned "wipe all data" just to make sure you knew that that is what a factory default does. My thought was that this would rule out a possible software issue from upgrading from an old firmware, but the fact a new unit works fine suggests that it was the old 104 unit that was the problem.
As you found you can move drives from one unit to another. In future if you need to migrate the disks again, I would recommend putting a spare disk (must not be from your array) in the new NAS, updating to a firmware at least as new as what you were running, verifying the update was successful, powering down, removing the spare disk then migrating the disks across. Migrating disks with newer firmware installed than what is in the flash of the new unit may not be a problem, but there are some cases where it might, so it is best to get the firmware to the same level or newer just in case.
