    Warranty starts at purchase.

    I think in practice it depends on if the original purchaser registered or not. If it was registered, you will likely have trouble getting warranty coverage, since the on-line registration tools won't let you register it again.

    If NewEgg can give you the serial number, we can check if it has been registered already or not.
