Newegg Sale on Hitachi HDS5C3030ALA630
I just received a e-mail flyer from Newegg and they have the Hitachi 3TB HDS5C3030ALA630 on sale for $119.99 each.
Caution - both Newegg and Amazon have this drive listed as 0S03230 rather than as the HDS5C3030ALA630. However, looking at the image of the drive label on the Newegg site, it definitely has HDS5C3030ALA630. I ordered one from Amazon last week which got here Tuesday (for $139.99 the same price as Newegg at the time) and the Hitachi packaging definitely says 0S03230 on the OEM packaging, however that number is no where on the drive label. The drive label is definitely the HDS5C3030ALA630. I have not installed it yet, as I was waiting to get two more before I started upgrading my NVX. I ordered the next two a few minutes ago.
The Newegg listing is here. The promo code is EMCKDKA23. The Promo code gives you an additional $10 off from their new price of $129.99. The promo code expires on 6/15/11.

- jamestx10AspirantMy drives came in yesterday. I have the first one installed and the Restriping is running. It estimated 24 hours so it should finish this evening.
Edit:
It finished Restriping and the expansion took an hour and forty min. Then I tossed in the 2nd new drive. It estimated Restriping will take 11 hours on this one.
Edit :
While the 2nd 3TB disk was restriping I got some errors on my 2TB disk 2 and disk 3. Will see if they rise any more. This disk finished and my storage has expanded. - AMRivlinApprenticeJust wanted to refresh this post, since I am using these drives, but they are now going for $229+
I bought at $175 in Feb.
