No green light for 2nd Hard Drive! Case #17014064
Hello,
I bought a Readynas Duo in Dec 2010 with a 2TB drive and 2TB to follow as part of netgear promotions,
Once I received the 2nd disk I inserted it and in Raidar no green light was show, as I had ample storage it was not a major concern to resolve but clearly I need to have a RAID configuration to ensure my data is safe(er).
Over the course of last year I had dealt with Netgear online support and got know where, in the end they said speak to UK promotions and get a new drive as it was not the enclosure.
After a few months (and the use of LinkedIn) I was sent a new drive and lo and behold once inserted it is not detected so no green light.
I have swapped the drives round and the new one is detected in bay 1 and the the one with data is not seen on bay 2.
Does anyone know of any way to resolve this or faced a similar problem!
I am certain that I will wake up one day to find a drive failure and all of my movies, music and photos gone forever!
Many thanks

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSounds like you may have a bad drive bay.
Do you have a current tech support case on this issue. If not, please open a new support case (http://www.readynas.com/support) and post your case number preferably editing the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in this thread) to include your case number. - mortc002AspirantThanks, I have included the case number
