NV+ Power Supply Failure Case#17378314
My power supply for my NV+ has died. My serial falls within the range of serials that have the reported issue with the PSU causing it to fail. I understand that there is a policy to replace these PSUs for users who's units have this issue. I did try to discuss with tech support over the phone, but they would have none of it. They, infact, recommended purchasing an off the rack PSU. I do, however, also understand that there is a special pin configuration for the NV+. I do not want to burn out my unit but swapping pins around and customizing PSU is not really my cup of tea. Can anyone advise me as to what my option here are?

- siignaNETGEAR Employee RetiredPapaBear's got a point. Luckily I've been watching this thread, it looks like it's becoming the unofficial PSU failure thread.
@AndrewL1963: I'll see if I can get you in touch with one of our Australian support guys.
@justints: I sent you an email directly, I never heard back from you from the forum post. Get in touch with me.
@Efroh: I forgot to send you a PM and you probably don't have auto-notify turned on for reply on this topic. I just sent you a PM. Get in touch with me. - AndrewL1963AspirantThanks for the info guys. Have already started a new thread so will wait and see what transpires.
- siignaNETGEAR Employee Retired@AndrewL1963: Did our Australian support team ever get in touch with you?
@justints: Your RMA should be going out tomorrow. I sent you a PM with the info.
@Efroh: I replied to your PM. - EfrohAspirantJust updating to say thanks to ssigna for his great help in getting me a new power supply and to say thanks to Netgear for backing a product that most companies would have cut off support for long ago. I am very impressed and my next NAS will definitely be a ReadyNAS, not only because the feature set is what I need, but also because a great product is only as good as the support backing it up. I'm confident that I'll be getting both when I buy my new ReadyNAS. :)
- phantomwhaleAspirantAnother +1 for Netgear who sorted me out with a replacement power supply as mine died from overheating too.
To those who HAVE replaced, are we supposed to be running any fan speed alterting patches on the ReadyNAS box ? My support agent said I should , but the only patches I could find were to the (new dead) infrant website, and surely the new power supplies wouldn't need this patch as well ?
