NV+ RND4000 Power Supply Failure: What are my options?
A few months ago the power supply died on my NV+ v1 (RND4250-100NAS). I tried to contact support as suggested in some other forum posts, but couldn't get anywhere with the online form – it only tells...

Thanks, StephenB. I'm intertested to hear directly from Netgear, because, as i mentioned, replacement PSUs were recently sent to multiple customers whose units were also not covered by the service action. See the links i originally posted.

I did see them, and hopefully Netgear will respond.
But if they don't, the options I posted are available.

I too have a ReadyNas RND4000 that just lost power suddenly. I tested the cord and it’s good. This is really a challenge for me. Can anyone tell me if either/both of the two PSUs below will work. Of course I'd rather not buy overseas. I did find instructions for installations on the Netgear website, an old PDF, probably from when they sold parts, but no other help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can get a new replacement PSU for your readynas RND4000 here:

If all you want to do is get it up and running so you can get files off of it, a standard ATX supply with an adapter cable can be used externally. Note that while the connector is the same as a 20-pin ATX supply, the pin-out is modified. So you will need to make a custom adapter cable by cutting and splicing a couple wires of an ATX 24 to 20 pin cable (about $4 on eBay).
If you want to keep using the NAS and are willing to try and modify a standard Flex ATX supply connector pin-out, do a search on "legacy power supply" and you'll find a posting from me telling you how. One caution not listed there: don't use a supply that has two 12 volt busses. I didn't know any of them did when I wrote that, and that thread is locked and I can't add the warning now. The disadvantage of this is that they have a small fan next to the power cord that has a rather high pitch to it. The ones sold as NV+ replacements have the fan on the other end, which likely quiets it some.
