The ram is soldered on, so it cannot be upgraded.
Generally there isn't uncompressed HD footage out there, it normally is at least compressed as motion jpeg. With RAID-1 you should get ~ 50 MB/sec write speeds and ~80 MB/sec read speeds according to this old review: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/nas/nas- ... ed?start=4
The v2 platforms have a max volume size of 16 TiB, so in RAID-1 they should be able to accept the largest drives currently available. However, there are support consequences to using drives off the HCL.
