Old Netgear NAS 6 Bay stopped booting no power)
Hi there I have two Netgear RNDU6000 ReadyNas Ultra 6 BAY NAS's They are clearly old. As far as I am aware they were both up to date with OS and patches (for that model). One of ...
The OS and configuraton are all on the disks, and the two units are compatible.
So you can power down the working ReadyNAS, remove the disks, and move the disks from the failed unit to it. Then power up, and it will boot with the all data and settings from the failed machines.
I suggest labeling the disks by slot (and by NAS) as you remove them, so you don't lost track.

The power supply is the most likely cause. They aren't inherently defective, it's a decent supply; but it's now just old.
If you have a spare ATX power supply or can "borrow" one from a computer, that can be connected externally to see if the problem is just the power supply. The supply is a standard SFX format one, so it's pretty easy to get a replacement. Of course, you could also swap the supply from the working one, but that's more effort.
Your NAS can also be converted over to running OS6. It requires you backup and restore the data, but you're doing that already.

So backed up the Unit still working.
Had an external PSU wired in and am currently backing up that one.
May consider the OS upgrade down the track.
I have to say these units have lasted extremely well !
