Old Netgear NAS 6 Bay stopped booting no power)

    The OS and configuraton are all on the disks, and the two units are compatible.

     

    So you can power down the working ReadyNAS, remove the disks, and move the disks from the failed unit to it.  Then power up, and it will boot with the all data and settings from the failed machines.

     

    I suggest labeling the disks by slot (and by NAS) as you remove them, so you don't lost track.

    No idea on Australian repair options - but this is something that you can potentially do yourself if you can find a compatible supply.  A local PC shop might also be willing to do it.
