Old Netgear NAS 6 Bay stopped booting no power)
Hi there I have two Netgear RNDU6000 ReadyNas Ultra 6 BAY NAS's They are clearly old. As far as I am aware they were both up to date with OS and patches (for that model). One of ...

The OS and configuraton are all on the disks, and the two units are compatible.
So you can power down the working ReadyNAS, remove the disks, and move the disks from the failed unit to it. Then power up, and it will boot with the all data and settings from the failed machines.
I suggest labeling the disks by slot (and by NAS) as you remove them, so you don't lost track.

Is there anyone (In australia) that may be able to repair the unit so it boots.
No idea on Australian repair options - but this is something that you can potentially do yourself if you can find a compatible supply. A local PC shop might also be willing to do it.

The power supply is the most likely cause. They aren't inherently defective, it's a decent supply; but it's now just old.
If you have a spare ATX power supply or can "borrow" one from a computer, that can be connected externally to see if the problem is just the power supply. The supply is a standard SFX format one, so it's pretty easy to get a replacement. Of course, you could also swap the supply from the working one, but that's more effort.
Your NAS can also be converted over to running OS6. It requires you backup and restore the data, but you're doing that already.

Thanks for the help all
So backed up the Unit still working.
Had an external PSU wired in and am currently backing up that one.
May consider the OS upgrade down the track.
I have to say these units have lasted extremely well !

Since the external supply works, a replacement supply will. It uses a standard SFX format supply, I recommend one rated at at least 350W. While the original Seasonic is only 300W, it has a biot more wattage on the 12V than a typical 300W, and you may need it to spin up 6 drives. You'll also need an extender for the 24-pin connection. 5" is usually enough (and too much is a pain to figure out what to do with), so it may be best to wait till you have the replacement to see how long it needs to be. You may also need a SATA to 4-pin MOLEX adapter if the supply doesn't have three Molex. On some, you can re-use the right-angle MOLEX connectors from the original to add the additional connection and also help clean up the cable paths. Many don't have automatic 120/220 voltage switch-over, and the selection switch will not be accessibe from outside the NAS, but few users really move them between the two.
None of the models I've used for replacement are currently available, but the Aprevia 400W and 500W appear to be good choices, though I can give no guidance on cables because I see no pictures with then not bundled. There is also a vendor on eBay that has some already modified for drop-in replacement.
