Pro 6 vs Ultra6Plus
Browsing this forum I've discovered that the ReadyNAS Pro 6 is available without discs, and has better performance than the home oriented Ultra 6 Plus; and for essentially the same price. However, the info on the Ultra touts things like DLNA and TIVO support, while the Pro 6 info says nothing about that stuff. So my question is, can the Pro 6 do everything the Ultra can do re home media serving? Or is a home user better off buying the Ultra?

- Yes, Pro 6 can do everything the Ultra lineup can do (including DLNA and TIVO archiving).
- PapaBear1ApprenticeWhen the Pro 6 (RNDP6xxx-200NAS) was first released, it was only available with disks installed at the factory. Due to customer demand it became available in a diskless version. Generally there is about a $100 difference between the Ultra 6 and Ultra 6 Plus and another $100 difference between the Ultra 6 Plus and the Pro 6. In addition to the business features, the Pro series also has a 5 year warranty versus a 3 year warranty on the Ultra/Ultra Plus series.
- Hi Craig
So which model did you opt for and how does it perform?
