Problem with 2.5" USB3 drive
I have a ReadyNAS Pro 2 with RAIDiator 4.2.22. I would like to connect a 750 GB 2.5" USB3 drive to the USB3 port on the front panel of the unit, but the ReadyNAS does not recognize the device. The drive is powered through the USB port. The drive's LED indicator lights up, I can hear the drive spinning up, but the RAIDiator menu tells me that there is no drive connected.
When I connect the same drive to one of the USB2 ports at the rear panel (same drive, same cable) everything works fine - albeit at USB2 speed. When I connect the drive to my computer (again, same drive, same cable), it works without any problems as an USB3 device. Lastly, when I connect a 3 TB USB3 WD MyBook 5.25" drive with external power to the front panel port of the ReadyNAS it also works without problems in USB3 mode.
What should this tell me?
