ReadyNAS Duo has stopped working
Hi, I have a ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 v2 with 2 1TB drives, I tried to access it today and its not on my network map anymore. It was silent with network activity lights flashing and no lights on the front...

Hi, my new Seagate drives are on the HCL, I fitted another new one to disk 2 and the NAS has again reported it as "dead". I fitted the original 2TB WD drive into my pc and am testing it now with the diagnostic tool but SMART status says its OK.
I have copied everything back off the NAS so no risk now.
Report back soon

OK the original 2TB WD drive that stopped the NAS from booting has passed the WD test tool quick test and extended test. Testing the first "dead" seagate now, it has passed the quick test and SMART status is PASS.

A lot of folks have had trouble with DM drives in a NAS (not just ReadyNAS either). I suggest WDC Red or Seagate VN drives, which have a lot less problem posts.
You can try powering down the NAS (then remove drive and the power cord for a bit). Then power back up, and try reinserting the drive.
