Re-using harddisk from NAS duo v2
Hello,
Today I received 2 new harddisks for my readynas duo v2. I replaced the old disk with the new ones and wanted to use the old harddisk as external HDD on my pc (before using it for the NAS it was a lacie external HDD). Problem is that the harddisk ins't recognized by windows 7 anymore. I can see it in the folder "Divces and printers", but I'm unable to acces the data.
Does anyone know a solution for this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Ferdi

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou have data on those disks you need to recover?
Or are you happy to just wipe the disks? - Ferdi1AspirantI do have data on that disk and I do like to recover that
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWell it's using Linux LVM Raid. Software like R-Linux should be able to use to recover your data.
An alternative would be to power down the NAS, remove the new disks (label order), put an old disk back in the same slot as before, power on, backup your data, then power down and put the new disks in.
Once you've recovered your data of the old disks you should format those disks.
