ReadNAS Duo V2 is running out?
Hi!
Because ReadyNAS OS 6 will only be available for new Products, what is about development of my ReadyNAS Duo V2, which I bought 2 months ago. If I want innovation, should I change to ReadyNAS 100 series?
Regards,
Gerald

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredExciting new features will come to the ReadyNAS 100 line. The focus for the Duo v2 going forward will be to address bugs.
- ihartleyTutorPlenty of work still to do then :-) . I've never known anyone EOL products so soon. Won't be buying a new Netgear device. Shocking, really shocking. I mean, how difficult can it really be to compile and test the binaries for the v2 ARM products, given they're still using ARM???

Not hard. Even the x86 models run the new x86 version fine. I don't have a system to test, but the new ARM images may already run on the v2.ihartley wrote: I mean, how difficult can it really be to compile and test the binaries for the v2 ARM products, given they're still using ARM??? - Gerald_nasAspirantThis is really frustrating. And what is about the "foto app" on ReadyNAS Duo V2? Netgear should consider, that with every EOL (End of Line) Product the costumer will consider to change to another nas-vendor !

Gerald - woodenbellyAspirantfrustrating is not a word that netgear understands i have been having issues since the purchase of of my nas duo v2 for nearly 6 weeks
i made the mistake and upgraded from a nas duo , shortly after buying the nas duo for the photos feature ( photographer )they made the original photos end of life.
but after my investment in the unit i lived with it , then i upgraded to a nas duo v2 hoping the photos 2 app had the bugs ironed out.
sine then i have spent over £30 on phone calls had to root my nas and leave my computer on 24 hours a day so they can tinker with it to get it sorted and it only works for 2 days , then i need to go through the whole process again with support to get it working again
NETGEAR SUCKS - Reckoning11AspirantFrankly, i'm like you ! I'm so deceived / fed up by NETGEAR Products, like their A6200 wireless dongle, it have been ages, that i do wait for a NEW FULLY WORKING DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 8.1.
It's sick, now you do the same with Operating system of READYNAS DUO V2, first of all your readynas os "actual one is cr-p" i'm not kidding. Give us freenas compability or flashing procedure. i would not even want it, if it was given for free the nas, i bought cause i had free harddrive with it. but so not worth it. i'll go to syno.
I'm not even thinking or bother trying to sell it, i'll give for free to someone else cause i cant take money of honest people and giving this sh!t for free.
Your os is so bad at least you could have gave FREENAS compability or even new product line with this Operating system integrated, it would clearly have gave you more success and possibilities to fight the leader in this sector.
Clearly, i will never buy anymore, any product with "the logo NETGEAR ON it ". It's bullsh****, it's like scam.
You never bother to give firmware upgrade and wonder why i bothered to buy tons of your product.
i really hope you go under or getting absorb by another network trademark from the bottom of my heart, i wish you this !
In fact, i've a better idea, it's to showing it on YOUtub3 Fully working and shredding it in a blender with title NETGEAR is b**** so i'm blending it !
yeah i think i will do that. - woodenbellyAspiranthi reckoning11
sorry to hear of your woes with netgear.....
i have sinced changed to synology and have a ds213+ setup and it is a breath of fresh air
it handles all my household media needs (2 desktop pc , 2 laptops and 3 smart TVs)
it also runs a picture sharing website for my part-time photography business that gives access to anyone i send a link to.
and if you also want you can host multiple websites from the nas unit and an online store......
i also have 4 mobile phones linked to the nas for media sharing and phone picture backups on the go :D :D :D :D :D
