DaneA assumed the "known issue" you meant was the service action. Did you have a different "known issue" in mind? Let us know.
If your NAS serial number is in the range in the service action, then Netgear will give you a new supply even if the warranty has expired.
If not check for warranty coverage (5 years I think).
The PSU can be replaced. One option is to get a stock supply (SS-250SU for instance) and modify the pinout for the NV+. I was referring to the hundreds of other postings referring to the known issue with the power supplies dying prematurely.
I can not find a link to the serial number range, which would be very helpful.
