ReadyCloud not used before, is it what is needed for workers from home?
Hi, I run a small office with just 4 PC's and a NAS 312 file sharing all of the companies files. Works excellent, however due to the recent events of COVID-19 the staff are going to have to work from home, they can take their PC's home no problem and link to their broadband, but the issue here is being able for all of them to use the NAS drive which has about 80GB of files on it and is about 30 miles away but with internet.
I have looked at uploading it all online, but very long winded, I did think Netgear did operate that perhaps but can't find much on it, so the only thing I can see is the Readycloud? I am thinking this is possibly run on each PC then can link up remotely to the same NAS 312 drive? what I don't know is does it upload all files to the cloud, or does it just allow access like this? Also is this free, and does it actually work fairly well?
Would appreciate your feedback on this, as bit stuck on what to do at present.
Kind Regards
Connor

ReadyCloud will certainly work in this situation. But one thng you need to look at is whether ot not your users use personal home folders. If they do, their ReadyCloud user login will not (and cannot) be the same as their local one, so they will not have access to the presonal folder.
If that is a problem for you, then you need to look into a VPN solution or move all content of personal flders to standard shares (with appropriate user access settings).. I use ZeroTier for my VPN, which resides in an app for the ReadyNAS (and needs a client on each PC), but there are other options, some of which are better implemented in your router than the NAS.
